On the weekend’s Les Schwab Prep scoreboard, Wenatchee earned at least a tie for the regular-season Big-9 title on the boys’ side Friday with a 5-2 win over Davis. Eastmont lost its second straight, falling on the road to Eisenhower 2-1. Moses Lake fell to Sunnyside 4-3. Cashmere shut out Chelan 2-0.
Okanogan passed Pateros on Saturday 5-0. Brewster defeated Liberty Bell 3-2. Bridgeport shut out Manson 4-0. Oroville took care of Tonasket 6-2.
Rams take top spot in Big-9 baseball rankings

The Rams beat Moses Lake 4-nothing and 13-2. Eastmont swept Sunnyside 8-1 and 12-3. Wenatchee took two from Davis 7-0 and 9-3. In other action Friday, Okanogan swept Manson with twin scores of 16-0. Liberty Bell took two at Lake Roosevelt 6-4 and 4-1.
Saturday morning’s heavy rain caused problems across north-central Washington at baseball and softball fields. The match that was played saw Ephrata and Ellensburg split a doubleheader. Quincy swept Omak 8-2 and 7-nothing. Chelan doubled over Cascade 10-0 and 13-5. Incredibly, Brewster scored 61 points in two games against Oroville, winning 34-2, 27-5.
Moses Lake solidifies Big-9 softball lead
On the softball fields Friday…
Moses Lake beat West Valley 11-8 and 13-3. Eastmont swept Sunnyside 13-1, 9-2. No scores were reported for Wenatchee and Davis, but Jim Beeson tells us the Panthers won both games. Lake Roosevelt took two from Liberty Bell 13-8 and 8-nothing.
The rains caused postponements for Ellensburg and Ephrata as well as Waterville-Mansfield and Pateros on Saturday. Cashmere took two from Tonasket 10-0 and 12-2. It was Omak on Quincy 9-3 and 13-4. Brewster beat Oroville 10-6, 9-5.
