BRISTOL – Muzzy Field has a new scoreboard for this year’s Bristol Blues season thanks to a donation from Thomaston Savings Bank.
“We are extremely grateful to Thomaston Savings Bank for this gift to us and to the city,” said Sarah Lucian, Community Development Manager for the Bristol Blues. “Thomaston Savings Bank has been a great supporter of the community at large.”
It replaced an older dashboard, which she said needed regular maintenance.
Stephen Lewis, chairman of Thomaston Savings Bank, said the bank is proud to fund projects like this that “enhance our community. We are thrilled with the installation of the new Muzzy Field scoreboard and look forward to the Blues season,” he said.
Lucian said the Bristol Blues season begins on June 2, with Jordan Scheiner as the new general manager and Tim Binkoski as the field manager. There will be 35 college players coming and staying with host families throughout the season, where they will travel to games across New England.
“We will have 22 home games this year,” Lucian said. “We’re also going to be partnering with a bunch of different organizations and big initiatives on every home game night. These partnerships will be announced on Friday, April 29 via our social media and website.
Tickets for Bristol Blues games will remain at $6 per person.
“We want it to stay affordable for a fun night out watching a baseball game in Bristol,” Lucian said.
Lucian encouraged those interested in sponsorship opportunities to email him at sarahl.bristolblues@gmail.com.
