A memorial at Dopp Park in Waukesha honored 8-year-old Jackson Sparks who died this week. Sparks died on Tuesday from injuries sustained during the Waukesha Christmas Parade, when an SUV passed through and struck dozens of people. Six people in total died. Sparks’ new memorial honors his time with the Waukesha Blazers, the baseball team he played for. The memorial displays photos of Sparks in uniform. He also has a baseball, bat and homemade posters signed by his teammates. Neighbors say the team erected the memorial on Wednesday and held a vigil for Sparks. “It was so quiet you could hear a coin drop. People were holding candles here. Relatives were talking. Nobody said a word other than that, we just listened,” Tony said. Karns, who lives nearby and was at the vigil. “Talk about how he loved to play baseball and how well loved by the team members.
