The Colorado Avalanche dethroned the two-time defending champion Tampa Bay Lightning and won the Stanley Cup on Sunday night. It’s been 21 years since the Colorado Avalanche failed to lift the Stanley Cup. NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly presented the cup to Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog, who circled the rink before presenting it to Eric Johnson, the oldest member of the Colorado Avalanche team. Cale Makar was named the winner of the 2022 Conn Smythe Trophy. Colorado beat Tampa Bay 2-1 on Sunday, taking the Stanley Cup Final four games to two.
