Mountain Statesman | Taylor County Little League will host in-person registrations today

GRAFTON—Baseball fans will soon fill the bleachers as the annual fall prom season approaches, and local players can claim their spot on the field during registration.

Taylor County Little League (TCLL) will hold sign-up days for those interested in playing, hoping to generate enough interest to boast multiple teams for each division.

The league offers C Ball (coaching field) for baseball players ages six through eight, as well as minor and major league teams (playing field) for players ages nine through 12.

An age grid is available on the league’s Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/taylorcountylittleleagueto help determine which division a child should play in based on their age.

According to league officials, games and practices will take place two to three nights a week, with days of the week varying depending on field availability.

Each team’s home field is at Anna Jarvis Elementary, with away games in border counties.

Those with kids interested in hitting the diamond this fall should head to The Gourmet Express, located at 1216 West Main Street, for in-person registration.

League volunteers will welcome interested people this Saturday, July 30 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. In addition, registrations will also take place during this same period on Saturday August 6th.

The registration cost for each participant will be $45.

After registration closes, league officials will determine if Taylor County has generated enough interest to boast teams for the season and establish the number of teams that can be fielded for each division.

Those with questions are asked to contact the Taylor County Little League Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/taylorcountylittleleague.
