How to tackle the looming double weeks of play – The Athletic

Fantasy managers around the world are patiently awaiting news of the postponement of the reorganized Premier League matches, which will translate into some exciting weeks of doubles play that we will enjoy.

We thought we had them now.

Until we do, there isn’t a lot of planning to do. There’s a good chance the information will filter out on Friday, but if it doesn’t, we’ll be turning a bit in the dark when making our Gameweek 21 transfer decisions. The FPL deadline is Saturday this week (11am BST).

We have already lost a Gameweek 21 fixture with Leicester City v Norwich City postponed due to COVID-19 concerns at the Norwich camp. Southampton v Newcastle could also disappear, with Eddie Howe’s side already struggling to get numbers following injuries to key duo Callum Wilson (£ 7.3million) and Allan Saint-Maximin (6.6 million pounds) which added to their long list of injuries.

For now, all we can do is try to predict how the matches are going to go. We are blessed in the FPL community to have Ben crellin who does all the work for us. The graph below is the last Ben created, predicting what the timeline might look like over the next few weeks. I must stress that this is only a prediction and things can and probably will change. I’m sure there will be some curveballs to come. The most important thing to do, as always nowadays, is to wait until the deadline is over before taking action. Make sure to follow Ben on Twitter and turn on notifications for his tweets!

To keep things simple, a lot of teams now have additional encounters.
