Golden Eagles get four on baseball all-star team | News, Sports, Jobs
The 2022 Mountain League baseball stars were released and two Tyrone Golden Eagles made the first team. Making the first team was Nick Lehner at first base and Zach LaGars as one of three outfielders. Golden Eagles’ Ross Gampe at first base and Aiden Coleman as designated hitter were named to the second team. Other first-team members included Bellefonte’s Braedyn Kormanic (catcher), Peyton Vancas (second base), Triston Heckman (shortstop), Alex Ebeling (outfield) and Derek Fravel (pitcher). Fravel was a unanimous selection early on. Joining him were Bald Eagle Area’s Ethan Koleno at receiver, McGwire Heverly at pitcher, Philipsburg-Osceola’s Jeremy Whitehead as DH and Penns Valley’s Miles Brooks in the outfield. Second teams included PO’s Ben Gustkey at receiver, Colby Hahn at third, Jacob DeSimone in the outfield and pitchers David Meersand and Hahn. BEA was represented by Kahale Burns at court and Hayden Vaughn in the outfield, along with Penns Valley’s Hayden Houser at second and Colby Sweitzer at DH and Clearfield’s Morgen Billotte in the outfield. Tyrone went 6-5 and finished fourth in the conference, which was won by Philipsburg-Osceola at 13-1. Holidaysburg, in its first season in the league, went 3-10. Huntingdon finished last at 1-12. Bellefonte finished second at 12-2. BEA finished third (9-5), while Penns Valley (6-8) and Clearfield (4-10) finished fifth and sixth, respectively. Softball Hollidaysburg and Tyrone each placed a player on the 2022 Mountain League Softball All-Star Team. The Lady Tigers got Abigail Steiner (second base) while Tyrone is represented by shortstop Maci Brodzina. Tyrone’s second teams included Tiffanie Tuskovich (shortstop), Maecy Tuskovich (first base) and Beth Pearson (catcher). Philipsburg-Osceola’s Paige Jarrett (outfield) made the first team, as did Clearfield’s Ruby Singleton (outfield), Lauren Ressler (first base), Olivia Bender (catcher) and Emma Hipps (pitcher/DP). Bald Eagle Area was presented by Autumn Tobias and Katelyn Smitchko. Other teams on the second team included Sierra Albright of BEA, Marina Shawley and Madison Perry, Scotty Dinges of Penns Valley (outfield) and Kailen Winkleblech (third base), Tori Reichert of Bellefonte and Simone Bilich of Huntingdon.
