Ex-manager Ausmus named Oakland Athletics bench coach | major league baseball

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Former Tigers and Angels manager Brad Ausmus will serve as the Oakland Athletics’ new bench coach under first-year manager Mark Kotsay.

The A’s announced Kotsay’s personnel on Friday. Ausmus, who interviewed for the Mets management open and has a 386-422 record as a manager, will provide Kotsay with an experienced sounding board in the dugout. Tommy Everidge will serve as batting coach and assistant batting coach Chris Cron.

Former A’s batting coach Darren Bush becomes third base coach and run prevention coach, while Eric Martins will serve as first base coach/infield coach and Mike Aldrete becomes run control coach. the quality.
