Eloy Jimenez reveals White Sox goal
The Chicago White Sox entered 2022 with high expectations. They were a popular choice for the World Series for many. But they struggled to get out of the gates and found themselves with a record below .500 earlier in the season. However, they began to show signs of life. The White Sox are now tied for second in the AL Central and play a better brand of baseball. OF/DH Eloy Jimenez has revealed the key to the White Sox’s future success, according to Yahoo Sports and MLB.com.
“We’re a good team,” Abreu told MLB.com through an interpreter. “Right now our focus has to be to try to stay healthy. If we stay healthy and stay on the pitch, we know we’re going to be good.
Jimenez is not looking for excuses. He states a fact. The White Sox feature arguably the most all-encompassing talent in the AL Central. But they trailed the Cleveland Guardians and Minnesota Twins for most of the season.
Co-aces Lucas Giolito and Lance Lynn both struggled with injuries throughout the first part of the year. As a result, they struggled to find their groove. The offense also suffered its share of injuries. Eloy Jimenez has struggled with various ailments over the past two years.
Nevertheless, Chicago is still in the division race. They decided not to sell before the MLB trade deadline because they felt like they could win the division. It won’t be easy as the Twins bolstered their roster with a number of trades last week. But the White Sox are finally getting their health back and are ready to make a second-half push.
