Apply for All Expenses Paid Leadership Training in San Diego, USA

The Hansen Summer Institute on Leadership and International Cooperation is an exciting international program funded by a generous grant from the Fred J. Hansen Foundation. This program offers a unique academic leadership experience in international cooperation and will take place in July 2023 over a period of 3 weeks in San Diego, California.

The main objective of the program is to establish an international community of young scholars who will use their summer experience as a springboard to form lasting bonds and gain a common understanding of the practical aspects of a more peaceful future.

Fellows receive practical instruction in teamwork, public speaking, negotiation, mediation, and cooperation to solve global problems. Moreover, they learn to listen actively, to seek common interests and to build pragmatic bridges of collaboration. Local excursions to San Diego attractions supplement classroom instruction.

In order to hone their own concepts and abilities while learning about the “American way of life,” Fellows interact with leaders from academia, politics, and business. Students leave San Diego with a “leadership skills toolkit” that they can effectively use for their upcoming challenges and projects. The participants, who come from all over the world, form lifelong friendships and change the course of their future for the better.

Each year, university students from the United States, developing countries, and conflict regions come together to learn about social entrepreneurship and conflict resolution from and among experts.
